It’s that time of year again!  Jolly music is playing on the radio, your house smells like pine and cookies, and your shopping is far from over. Thankfully, if you’re shopping for a photographer or videographer, this blog will help tremendously and won’t break the bank!

When shopping for a hobbyist or a professional photographer/videographer, most people think that no matter what you may want to get for them, it’s going to be expensive.  Camera’s these days can cost anywhere from $500 to $40,000+ and most of the lenses and accessories can be equally as devastating to your bank account.

Fortunately, there are accessories and add ons that every photographer needs that make for great stocking stuffers and christmas gifts.  Below is a list of these items with descriptions so you know exactly what your looking for.

***Reminder*** Make sure that when buying some of these accessories, you know what type of camera and size of lens your recipient has.  You don’t want to buy the wrong thing!

ND Filters:

ND Filters are SOOOO important for anyone who wants to take photos or videos outdoors.  These screw on lens caps work as sunglasses for your camera, adding color that may have been blown out by the sun.  ND filters are cheap and come in different sizes, so make sure you find out what lens you are buying this for.  Here is a list of professional grade ND filters that are less than $20!

– 58MM ND Filter Set (ND2, ND4, ND8) + Premium MagicFiber MicroFiber Cleaning Cloth:  http://amzn.to/2CUEBQv

– 2MM Ultrathin, Rangers 49MM full ND2, ND4, ND8, ND16 Neutral Density Filters and carrying Case:  http://amzn.to/2Bu82wF

The next must-have item on the list is lens cleaner!  When I first got into photography, I would go for ages without cleaning my lens.  I would have awful lens flare and dust spots due to the lack of attention I was spending on my lenses.  These lens cleaners may not look like much, but they are a photographers best friend.  Here is the exact lens cleaning kit that I have and swear by.  It has lasted me almost a year and is less than $12!

Now lets talk about flash.  Although a good flash may be too expensive for a gift (maybe not), flash diffusers certainly are not.  If your photographer takes a lot of portrait pictures, product pictures, or close up shots of their subject, sometimes the naked flash is way too much for the look they are wanting to achieve.  The Ultra Photo Flash Diffuser Light Softbox is an excellent gift as it is a universal accessory (works with most off-camera flashes) and will give the the photographer a greater sense of light, and use of light.  This diffuser is just under $15 and can be used in almost any situation.

The last accessory on this list isn’t much of an accessory at all, but more of a necessity.  These are also items that every photographer HAS TO HAVE before even getting started with their camera, and having too many is never an issue…These tiny little christmas gems are SD cards.  An SD card is essential, and yes, there are good and bad SD cards.  Make sure you get your recipient an HD card that is at least 8GB…Anything smaller than that is generally too small, having to change out the card after just a few hours of work. Below are the ND filters I highly recommend for any photographer/videographer.
